2010 Edinburgh Fringe

Tim Vine and Brendon Burns misbehave on BBC News

Tim Vine and Brendon Burns have caused BBC newsreader headaches today by behaving unpredictably in interviews.

Tim Vine, who today was named as having the best joke at the Fringe, exposed the backdrop of the BBC's Edinburgh studio as he was being interviewed by Emily Maitlis. Then later Brendon Burns, being interviewed by Huw Edwards on the BBC News Channel, expressed mock rage and made a dramatic exit. However the Australian comedian's joke appeared to backfire as he was unable to return to complete the live broadcast before the station ran out of time.
