Andrew And The Slides Of Chaos
It's the big meeting and Andrew is delivering the key presentation on corporate strategy. He isn't too worried though; he's a power point wizard. He can make words jump through hoops (all he needs is some clip art of hoops). He's in complete control. Except that his laptop has just achieved sentience and is planning to kill him and take over the world. Now Andrew has to face the blue screen of death, the four bullet points of the Apocalypse and all the quad-speed forces of hell. Death by power point? Next slide please.

An original comedy play will be performed for the first time at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival from 22nd - 28th August at the Bannermans Venue. Andrew & The Slides Of Chaos is an insightful absurdist comedy with a rebellious nature; poking fun at the bizarre, ineffectual world of middle‐management in huge multinational organisations from an insider's point of view, and stretching the abilities of slide shows to their absolute limit. Tickets are Free. The main character is Andrew, an office worker at the end of his tether in a huge corporation where his humanity is suppressed by needless bureaucracy. Being forced to do a presentation about corporate strategy is just about enough to push him over the edge. However, at the exact same time, his laptop has developed artificial intelligence and turned into a maniacal warlord intent on taking over the world. Can Andrew save humanity while finishing his presentation under the scrutinous eye of his boss? Or will everything end in an explosion of compliance procedures? Writer Jonathan Monkhouse knows a bit about what makes a good presentation. As an audio/visual technician in the corporate world he has endured at least a conference a day, every working day for the last nine years. Approximately 3000 conferences with 5‐10 speakers per day adds up to a fair few presentations. Good and bad. Mostly bad. He has heard the phrase "is this microphone on?" over 500 times, each one through a P.A. system. He's also become somewhat of an expert in repairing terrible PowerPoint slide shows. Writer Chris Mead completed a full 25% of his marketing course before the sheer dead‐eyed tedium of it all crushed the last vestiges of hope in his soul. He came away with a reduced capacity to experience joy and an enlarged vocabulary that included nonsense words such as "deliverables". He now spends his time as a blogger, podcaster, actor, writer, occasional poet and improviser, fighting to reclaim the parts of himself he had packaged up and rebranded during a particularly intense "ideas shower" some years ago. Andrew & The Slides Of Chaos is part of the multi award‐winning PBH Free Fringe.
