Possibly. Sheen seems to be the go to guy when you need to mimic somebody famous. I can't think of anything he's done when he hasn't been doing an impersonation.

Exactly, a lot of people will have seen him, but I imagine most wouldn't have a clue who he was if sat in front of him.

If they were sat in front of him they wouldn't see him. Far better to sit behind him.

Clever clogs.

Did a TV play where he played a paranoid schizophrenic. Some seriously wild acting. He would make a splendidly swivel-eyed Doctor.

None of these comedians will be chosen, RTD says the casting of Ecclestone and Tennant shows that it's a role for good actors, not comedians. So that rules out the likes of Bhaskar, Bill Bailey, Serafinowicz, Izzard, Brand etc etc. I can't see Moffat deviating from that rule.

Serafinowicz can act. He isn't very funny, but he can act.

Yup.

I think it is high time the Beeb got away from all this youth based programming and reconnected with their core teatime weekend audience - Peter Sallis as the Last of the Summer Time Lords, with Kathy Staff as his assistant, sliding down a black hole in the Tardis, while Jean Alexander as Aunty Rani attempts to sell Inspector Truly of Torchwood a secondhand Dalek...

It might be worth starting a petition to get Chris Morris chosen as the next doctor.

Ah, now Chris Morris really can't act.

I nominate Stephen Hawking.

I nominate Stephen Hawking.

As a Dalek

Laughing out loud

I'd quite like to see Dylan Moran or James Nesbitt as the next Doctor. Obviously angry and slightly drunk are on my checklist...

No, Ecclestone had arguably peaked and was a few years past his most productive period.

Hmmm, maybe so but Bernie could at least give The Tardis a good fine tuning.
