Lenny Henry?

If we're going for un-predicted choices, black people, and women, then I'll happily slip on a dress, wig, and boot polish.

Sheen is the no.1 choice, I would have said, but is he too famous already?

No.

How about Jessica Hynes....and the Doctor is still into chicks though. hooooot

Hoot indeed. Definitely not hot.

Daniel Radcliffe?

Anyway, I'm going for John Cleese or John McCririck.

Sheen is too famous. And the upcoming Frost/Nixon movie will make him much sort after in America. He's not going to want to piss about on Doctor Who, no matter how good it is.

After all the gurning and grinning I think we need a more Troughtonesque Doctor.

I'd quite like Peter Serefenwitz.

No more so than Eccleston.

Best: Sanjeev Bhaskar

Awful choice, well done!
:D

Aaron, what's the most number of quotes you've managed to cram into one post?

No more so than Eccleston.

No, Ecclestone had arguably peaked and was a few years past his most productive period.

I would say yes; recognition wise, he was/still is leagues ahead of Sheen with the general public. Being 'past his peak' doesn't make him any less well known. He is a very recognisable actor, I would say Sheen is much less so.

Sorry Matthew, but he is one of the names who's been mentioned in the past.

I'm not sure he'd make a good permanent Doctor, but I'd like to see him in the role. Actually, it'd be great if they could pull off a double-change over just one or two episodes. Bhaskar could play the middle Doctor, before regenerating into the permanent choice. Could make for quite a good story.

Although no doubt you'll disagree, what with being wrong most of the time.

I disagree because I think he'd be an awful choice; in no way right. I agree it would make an interesting story, but I wouldn't like to see him in the role. Plus he's got no chance of getting it.

And I would have thought by now you would realise how right I am most of the time. Name one thing I'm wrong about? Nothing. Apart from you.

I dunno, he's played King Arthur in Spamalot and I've not heard any criticism. (Although admittedly haven't been looking.)

But pretty unlikely really, yes. (I'd still like to see him give it a go though, just not permanently, like I said.)

Possibly. Sheen seems to be the go to guy when you need to mimic somebody famous. I can't think of anything he's done when he hasn't been doing an impersonation.
