On TV tonight: Film Classics

There's not really a recommended films thread so I've tried to start one and keep them in one place.

Mostly it's because tonight at 11:20pm Five US, for those that have it, is showing James Cameron's (yes, he of The Terminator and Titanic fame) first film: Piranha 2: The Spawning, also known to film afficienados out there as (on my VHS copy at least) Piranha 2: The Flying Killers.

Yes, you read right -- flying. As in with wings and everything. It is a must-see.

If you like this water-based adventure, please be aware that Stephen Baldwin has just been straight-to-DVDed in Tesco, in the phenomenally-sounding Shark In Venice which may well be the greatest film title ever.

Anyway, watch and enjoy. And don't say I didn't warn you!

That does sound rather fabulous.

Oh, it is. In particular, listen for the noise piranha fish make as they fly!

Dan

Sounds a bit like Shark Attack 3: Megalodon.

Awesomely ridiculously excellent.

I believe Shark In Venice is effectively Shark Attack 4 but with some ridiculous mafia-themed plotline.

I *so* want to see Shark Attack 3: Megalodon. It's genius!

Dan

I would lend you the dvd if I didn't keep it sellotaped to myself at all times, I love it so!

John Barrowman does some stellar acting in it and ad libbed a VERY rude line. They kept it in though. :)

Oh man, I remember watching some really bad horror films, when I was a kid. When we first got our VCR, me and my sister went crazy, renting films almost every day. Unfortunately, back then, we had to rely on the small selection at the back of our local sweet shop, which often forced us into renting the really old, dusty weird shit. I think the worst (or maybe best, if we're being ironic), was a film called 'Children Souldn't Play With Dead Things'. It was about a bunch of Hippies, who get lost in a haunted wood, and end up getting killed, one by one. It was so old, it didn't even have a proper box, with it's title written on it.

If you have it, watch Zone Horror, they usually play a film called "Leeches!". Is acetastic. It's where I heard the line "I am president of the United States of your ass" :D

By the way, are you a DJ?

No, he's a dyslexic with mixomatosis.

I am at certain functions on Mars...there they know me as Vanilla Corn.

A shiny new donkey for the head of colonel Montoya...and where I got my interweb handle from.

If you want to see a well weird film catch Mark Hamill in Slipstream. Nothing happens! Really, It's wonderful. He sits in a cave and moans a lot. A must see. The other two people who've watched it said the same.
