I not worked up, in fact I'm almost falling asleep. (again)
I've had naps after lunch for the past three days.
Am an OAP.
Or Spanish.

I love sleeping in the afternoon.
Some internet forums forbid the discussion of politics or religion, because they are topics which get people worked up.
Re: sleep. After a meal, blood makes its way from your head to your stomach, and so you are sleepy. Or so I read, somewhere.
I think that might be a good idea.
No wayz!!
They're the fun topics!
Ooops, I posted before finishing.

Hardly! In fact, not at all!
I could give a mark for effort, but it would be a low mark.

Is that a euphemism?
Quote: zooo @ October 22 2008, 3:39 PM BSTI think it's more if people don't vote, but then think they can complain about the government, etc.
If you can't be bothered to try and make a difference, shut the f**k up.
And how do you think you can make a difference voting for a major party? Or are you going for the BNP again?
Quote: chipolata @ October 22 2008, 4:22 PM BSTIs that a euphemism?
You wish!
Quote: Seefacts @ October 22 2008, 4:00 PM BSTBut doing it when you've got a reasonable choice...
What are the reasonable choices you feel you've got?

So what method of government do you propose in its place then?
I am on tenterhooks to witness the genius...

Labour, Tory, Lib Dem.
You know, it's not easy running a country believe it or not.
Anyway, no more politics!!
Quote: chipolata @ October 22 2008, 3:41 PM BSTYou could argue that the choice you are offered is no choice at all.
From So Long And Thanks For All The Fish:
"I come in peace," [the robot] said, adding after a long moment of further grinding, "take me to your Lizard."
Ford Prefect, of course, had an explanation for this (...)
"It comes from a very ancient democracy, you see..."
"You mean, it comes from a world of lizards?"
"No," said Ford, (...) "nothing so simple. Nothing anything like so straightforward. On its world, the people are people. The leaders are lizards. The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people."
"Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy."
"I did," said ford. "It is."
"So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?"
"It honestly doesn't occur to them," said Ford. "They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates to the government they want."
"You mean they actually vote for the lizards?"
"Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course."
"But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?"
"Because if they didn't vote for a lizard," said Ford, "the wrong lizard might get in."

And so you should be!
It would be by elected politicians who actually represent their constituents views, rather than their own personal or party view. Unfortunately, we are a long way from that.
