Reasons to dislike people. Page 7

Quote: David Bussell @ October 22 2008, 3:37 PM BST

Why do people get so het up about this? Is it because you want Johnny no-vote to tick the box of your guy?

No, it's just ridiculous.

"No, I don't care who gets in and governs the country I live in, politics is sooooooo dull!"

Get your arse down there and vote, you lazy scum.

Seefacts, what about spoiling one's ballot paper?

Why would you do that?

That's even more annoying.

I'm afraid that I can't give my permission to any bunch of criminal scum who are going to rob us blind and destroy our country.

Well that enables you to look down on everyone and act superior no matter what happens.
Well done!

If you, somehow, managed to find yourself in a constituency/ward in which only, say, the BNP were standing - a party I expect that you vehemently dislike - would you vote for them?

I'm voting in about 5 hours on my drive home from work. Wave

Would that ever happen?

If it did, then I WOULD spoil it, yeah.

But doing it when you've got a reasonable choice just seems a bit mental.

What's that for then?

Yay! Who for?

(Or are you keeping it a secret.)

Quote: Seefacts @ October 22 2008, 3:59 PM BST

No, but I'm using an extreme to illustrate the point.

That's down to individual perception. A BNP supporter would have happily ticked that box, but just like you would choose not to, there are equally people who would see what they are offered now as being far from "reasonable".

Yes, probably true. I once had a long discussion with a Lib dem candidate, and he said that the only person I would vote for would be myself. Sounds about right.

If they are smelly.

At least spoiling the ballot paper means you've made the effort, and know about the parties enough to have made your choice.

You're not just an ignorant lazy tosspot who doesn't appreciate the privilege he/she has been given, and probably didn't even know it was election day.

Surely there are other ways to effect change rather than just voting? Somebody may not vote but participate in other forms of action to try and get the things they want?

That said, I'm in favour of voting.

I'm in favour of high explosives.

I severely doubt more than a tiny percentage of the people who don't bother voting are involved in anything like that!

You're getting quite worked up about this. Go and sit yourself down.
