The Look-A-Like

PART 1

INT. A CLUB - NIGHT

Two men are stood at the bar talking. One of them (John)looks quite a bit like Paul Scholes.

MAN1
So what do you do for a living then?

JOHN
I'm a Paul Scholes look-a-like

MAN1
Really? Wow, that must be hard to get into

JOHN
It's easier for certain people

MAN1
Are you gonna show me then or what?

John looks a little baffled by this.

JOHN
(Confusedly)
Okay?

Man1 looks completely astonished.

MAN1
Jesus Christ! You're the spit of him! Bloody hell that's a talent and a half!

PART 2

INT. A BAR - NIGHT

John is still stood at the bar. Man1 comes over with another man.

MAN1
(to John)
John mate, I want you to meet Paul

John and man2 shake hands.

MAN1
(to man2)
Does he look familiar to you?

MAN2
Not really

MAN1
Watch this then. (to John)Go on, do it now

John looks confused again.

JOHN
Done?

A look of absolute amazement goes across man2's face. Man1 has a big smirk on his face.

MAN2
HOLY SHIT! It's Paul f**king Scholes!

I don't get the reference, although I think I can work it out.

Not really strong enough joke for a good sketch, and certainly not up there with your others.

Maybe it's funnier if you know Paul Scholes.

It's basically that the guy doesn't get that he just looks like Paul Scholes all the time being a look-a-like, and seems to think he has to do something before he does look like him. Essentially the guy doesn't understand how look-a-likes work.

I was going with something a bit different from what I normally would with this one so ah well, back to the tried and tested style.

I know the gifted Mancunian scum but I'm not sure I get the reference either.

Erm, I seem to have "got" a different joke. I just thought his act was to look confused, as Scholes often does. i.e. Looks confused = Wow! that's amazing.
But then confused myself as to how he didn't realise this if he was a look-a-like.

Worth trying something new out, guess prob with Scholes is he stays out of the media.

Oh, now I'm confused. And I'm ginger, so could probably pass as a lookalike myself
