Not a final one.

Just wondering if the running order for Treason has been sent out yet.

No, but you were in the writers' list in the programme, so you must have had something in.

Was I?

Did they have any of the following?

Kim Jung il parrot sketch.
Kim Jung il replaced by Basil Brush.
Cameron and Brown competing on tax cuts.
Scout leaders teaching sex ed.
Gordon Brown making the queen wear a Burqa

Yes, you were. Shame you missed it, it was packed out. The Gordon Brown sketch was definitely in, and went down really well, with the Camilla punchline getting a big laugh. There was a sketch with Cameron and Brown and Clegg being competitive, I think, which I thought I recognised from reading it here. There was a Kim Jung il one, but I don't think it was about a parrot or Basil Brush, I just remember lots of puns on him being "ill". There was a sketch about the Scouts teaching sex education, don't know if it was yours.

Hope this helps, sorry I don't always remember. Fubsy was also there, he had two or three great sketches in, and he may recall better.

Coolio sounds like I got 3.

Oh, wow. Cool. :)

They're doing a show in my home town of Worthing on the 28th, so I might be tempted to go along. :P

I haven't sent much in lately.
The sketches I recently sent to Treason were:

1) A James Bond sketch where the Bond girl won't shag Bond because he's a blonde minger.

2) Sarah Palin wakes up after a nightmare about Obama winning and finds that it didn't actually happen and that Bush is still President.

3) A version of the song DIVORCE where Madonna sings about how much more record sales she'll get because of the Guy split publicity.

4) My Celebrity Queen sketch where the Queen wants to be a proper celeb and auditions for a part in the film "Helen Mirren."

I guess it was one (or more) of those that got in this time.

I think it was the Bond sketch you got in, which again went down very well.

Definitely go and see it because it always really helps to see the audience reaction. Unfortunately in my experience of Worthing, although I've only been there once, it doesn't get a large audience, maybe 60 or so, which reduces the atmosphere.

At Brighton on Saturday there were more than 250 and it really makes a big difference to how the show goes down. And if you've got a sketch in that goes down well with that many people, it's a real buzz.

Once you've got something in, you get a free ticket anyway, but again that's only for the Brighton show.

Do you only get offered a ticket if something is in the show? They offered me one but I have no idea if anything got in.

Nope if you're a writer you should get one, you don't have to get anything in.

Certainly NR are quite happy to have virgin writers turn up.

It was just my experience that I only received the monthly email offering me a free ticket after I'd got something in the show. I expect if you ask you can probably get one anyway.

By the way the running order's out now, and I see Mikey and Sooty have got two sketches in each. Congratulations!

I had nothing. Still at least I got a cheque for Newsrevue's Edinburgh show today. £82 for two lines! Griff must have got a fortune.

Damn - I had a sketch in the London preview but it got dropped before the Edinburgh show. An expensive editorial decision! (admittedly, it was initially used by NR about 9 months previously and involved the death of a relatively obscure person, so I was glad just to get a few extra quid from the London shows)

118 118 why not whore your talents, before Jaqui Smith cracks down on it?

Cool. Any chance of posting the running order here n this thread?

Well, quite honestly, I've been avoiding going to the show because I didn't find ANY of the videos they posted on their site funny. (apart from Paddington and Miliband Bros)

But, as it's on in Worthing this month, I might just pop along.

And yeah, Brighton WILL be better, so I'll go over there next month maybe.

Once you've got something in, you get a free ticket anyway, but again that's only for the Brighton show.

I don't mind a freebie. :)

Nah they gave me a freebie one month for Brighton and Hemel.

But then I am the new Labor comedy Tsar.

Well done guys! Congrats Mikey on finally getting stuff in this month. Happy with another song. Anyone know how it went down?
