Treason Show - USE THIS THREAD PLEASE

SlagA EDIT - USE THIS THREAD FOR TREASON - REFRAIN FROM OPENING NEW, PEEPS :P

Yay! They like my stuff. I sent them a song and a couple of sketches last night and the Producer/Director has just emailed me to invite me to join the writing team. I'd been meaning to send them stuff for ages.

Who else writes for them? I know there's a few on here who do.

o/

(less so now than previously but I plan to get back into it)

Congratulations. I thought your Home Secretary's Guide to the Galaxy was perfect for them.

I know Griff, Sooty, Baumski, Phill Barron and I do,some more recently than others. Sure there's several others here.

Anybody got the latest running order? Just out of curiosity, like.

(Mods - can we keep this as a separate thread? NewsRevue already has its own similar one.)

NB this doesn't seem to have all the voiceovers?

Cheers, Griff.

I've been a regular TS writer for the past 18 months or so, but haven't sent in much over the last few as have been working on non-topical stuff.

I'm attempting to step up my Treason show writing having got a sketch in last week, but I'm still trying to work out what sort of things are wanted and have now discovered I'm crap at songs.

Has anyone here written any captions or gags for them that got performed? I like gag writing but don't really know how it works in the show. Are they performed as a stand-up like bit, or just VO'd like (I assume) the captions are?

Gags are V/O-ed inbetween the sketches, as are the captions.

I don't have any luck writing gags for TS. I've had lots of one-liners used by NewsRevue but for some reason I haven't managed to crack the Treason style.

Treason has a very distinctive style, which certain established writers seem to have cracked.

Mark has started sending out videos of edited highlights from the show to writers.

If you send stuff and ask him for the link it should give you more of an impression of what they like.

Which is often very diferent from NR.

If you go on the treason show website they currently have a couple of
clips from the last show.
This will give an idea of the way the show is put together.
I've been writing for the show for five years, and would be happy to answer any questions [if i can] that new writers may have.
The old hacks can fend for themselves.

When & where (channel?) is this show on?

Hi Bill, it's a stage show.

Ah...so...

Yeah I've seen a couple of the videos, which cleared up a few things, but it's still a different format/style to get used to. I probably should work out the feasibility of seeing one of these shows live at some point...

Griff, hadn't even realized NR used gags too, would you be able to post any you've had used? I'd love to see what type of thing they go for.
