ZOOM IN ON THE MAN'S INDIFFERENT LOOKING FACE THROUGH THE CACOPHONY OF CHART MUSIC.
ZOOM IN ON HEADPHONE. SOUND SWITCHES TO HEADPHONES. WE HEAR THE GENTLE RATTLING OF A TRAIN AND THE SOUND OF QUIET CONVERSATIONS AND RUSTLING NEWSPAPERS. PULL BACK TO SHOW MAN'S FACE WEARING A FAINT SMILE.

That's what I had in mind. 
Nice that, Finck. Another way of making it clear the train sounds are coming from the headphones would be to start the sketch with the headphones off...then...I just sat here for about two minutes trying to think how that would actually work. It wouldn't. Yours is much better. Just keep zooming in and rest on the headphones, then show the guy's peaceful face.
Hmmmm....is it...? I'm not sure.....yes, it is in fact genius. Woo!
