I am rubbish with money. Very good at spending it though.

You aren't my wife are you?

I'm your wife, and so's my wife.

NatWest. UCAS wrote to me to tell me they were good after I'd looked into them (albeit due to sponsorship) and I have friends who use them, so it seems right. Pleased

If you stay on the right side of them, which I'm guessing you will. Natwest are very good, the lesser of the evils (in customer service terms, anyway).

-£328.00 for me, I lose, twice.

And you get a free railcard!

My new one just arrived this morning.

I've been with Barclays for thirteen years now, and have always found them pretty good. They gave me a huge overdraft at uni; they just neglected to mention to me that this was not, in fact, free money.

Bastards.

Heh heh heh. My overdraft is interest-free.

I wouldn't say that; I'm rivetted.

It's not the interest which annoys me it's the paying the overdraft back bit. So far I've managed to do it twice, then ran it up again.

As I said, I'm rubbish with money.

Maybe that's a sign that you should do it later...?

I have to mow in the daylight, so that means I can't start any later than 7:30 and it's only 2 degrees cooler at that time. It doesn't get below 90 until midnight or so.

How about at dawn. Wake up the neighbours with the sound of the mowiing machine.

This is more or less what I know about money:
Earn as much as you can.
Spend less than you earn.
Stick everything else into the highest-interest account you can find.

This is what I know about money:

Earn what you consider to be a perfectly reasonable amount of money.
Pretend you are playing Brewster's millions until the cash machine refuses to give you money.

You expected to borrow money & never pay it back!!!

Good grief! Your pre Uni education was somewhat deficient wasn't it?

Here's a little tip, engrave it on your soul (or sole)

Businesses NEVER give you something for nothing!

I (or my mum) opened a junior account there, when a was a kid. Never used it though, except for the initial few pound deposit, which we went on to forget about. Interest built up, over 20 years, that was a nice withdrawal day :)

Ah, a graduate of the School of Hard Knocks and the University of Tough Surprises.

Great advice! :)

www.free-stuff.co.uk

Ok, not exactly for nothing. But it's very rare I've gone on to purchase any of the free product samples I receive, and quite often, never get any follow up spam.
