Thanks for the concern, mate, I'm in good spirits. As for my writing I am actually planning to follow your advice and write about my childhood. I have it mapped out in my head and while its inciteful it's also funny.
As for my treatment to date it has been relatively problem free, however there were a few moments.
At one point one side of my hair went blue and as my hair is silver it was a very vivid shock.
Thankfully it was my wife who spotted that I had been scratching my head with a broken pen and the panic lasted only as long as a quick shower.
My daughter then told me she had seen my blue hair and didn't say nothing in case it made me self-conscious about my treatment. After my shower she was spoken to too about shouting out about things when she sees them. Otherwise, I told her she would be classed as a 'Wooly Back' the worst thing you can call a real Scouser.
Then there was the issue of having E45 baths, my wife put so much of it in the bath that I was like a greased pig. At one point I was worried that if she hugged me, I'd shoot through her arms and get a head full of ceiling plaster.
When I tried to shower off the excess it was like watching rain running off a car windscreen.
Then there was the Weetabix incident.
I was given Chemo in tablet form to take at home and I will openly confess that when I took my first dose, I was terrified as you hear so much about it.
The instructions were clear that they should be taken with food so I reasoned that the best way to take the morning dose was with Weetabix as its bland and would I thought that would be the best way to do it.
So, I did it for 5 days and then I got a letter from my nurse sent second class. In the letter was a list of things not to eat and Weetabix was near the top!
So I switched to Rice Crispies for the morning dose and a chopped banana and whipped cream for the night.
One thing I would have to say is that my wife and daughter looked after me like a Squirrel they had accidently ran over.
So, following the Weetabix incident my meal ideas were wrestled from me and they contacted my nurse to see what I should be eating, and the nurse told them to fill me up on cream cheese and proteins as I have lost quote a bit of weight. So, I was faced with full fat milk on my cereal, extra butter on everything and I have a Baby Bell cheese pushed onto me like Ecstasy tablets with every cup of tea.
