Is that a eupher...?

Got me coat.

Is that a surprisingly intuitive chat up line?

:D

I think you just hit on my way forward.

I recently switched to using an electric toothbrush for the first time and can't believe how much better it is over a manual one.

They're amazing!

HOWEVER!

If you ever use it once the charge has gone be very careful. Brushing in a manual manner with one of them requires a 'vigorous stroke' and if you end up banging it into your gums by mistake you know about it.

And then get an ulcer.

Be careful Ben, that's all I am saying.

As I said, I'll be fine.

Philips Sonicare brushes are the best in the business. I have, well, about ten now. I test stuff....

We all know they can also be used as vibrators.

As a job?

Strange couple of days. Walked randomly into a local community hall yesterday to see if anything was going on in there and immediately turned to leave on spotting what I thought was an old people's club. Actually, they were mainly younger - early 60s - and, as I was informed by the woman who invited me in for a cup of tea, it was a mental health support group. I decided to say "yes" on the grounds that I might feel a bit more sane by comparison in their pleasant company but after half an hour the event had not turned out as anticipated. Every one there reported they had been to far flung places in the previous fortnight - Eastbourne, Brighton - the pavilion, a pub crawl and Jamie Oliver's restaurant - and in one case a cruise along the Panama Canal combined with Costa Rica. This contrasted with the extent of my explorations - Tescos and the community hall itself.

On leaving before I gave my account of my week - the body was once again seizing up with all of life's tensions - I walked down the road and spotted a back and neck clinic. It suddenly seemed appropriate to book myself in for an appointment. This afternoon, I have been lifted up about four times by a very reasonable guy who left school at 16 and looks like the sort of person who manages rides at a fairground. Parts of the upper body were moved as if I was being wrestled and the snapping of whatever could be heard as far as the barber down the street. I was informed that this was merely the releasing of air. Oddly, I do feel a bit better and am due to return for more sessions. But I have been warned that when I notice the adverse effects tonight, I mustn't worry at all as it only happens after the initial one. We also had time to discuss Nick Cave and the Birthday Party, the sessions in Neuro-Linguistic Programming he could offer me and the possibility of an immediate window cleaning job with his mates.

What an exciting life you lead. :)

Wanted to swimming today, but there's a damn swimming gala on. Will have to go tomorrow.

Me and swimming don't go well together.

I've been invited to join Elite Singles.

I'm not a very good swimmer, but the fact that it leaves me sonouy of breath is good. Hopefully I'll improve in a month or so.

I haven't been invited to join Elite Singles.

sonouy? Not trying to be funny, just curious as you are an East Anglian like me and I've never heard that word.

If any of you East Anglian folk are writers check out my post in Writing Opportunities. It's called With Love from Suffolk. Deadline tomorrow.

I like East Anglia. My friend Lisa lives in a village outside Bury-St-Edmunds and I've been there a few times now. Barbara Vine (aka Ruth Rendell) also writes about how beautiful it is up there too. Maybe I should relocate?
