Our council gave us small bins for recycling food waste..
The bin men appear to have demolished mine today, leaving just a fragment of the handle, the rest has vanished.

Maybe there were too many food gases in it and it exploded!
Quote: Nogget @ 14th December 2013, 12:08 PM GMTHaving learnt about such things from sitcoms, I think they will probably bond while they make fun of your sexual prowess together.
They did bond (which is a worry) but the omens weren't great as the evening began.
The ex was determined to hide away in the kitchen and serve the drinks and even bought herself a bottle of wine as company. My new lady said that she was going to go over and 'just be friendly' and they ended up getting on really well.
When the party finished we all helped clear up and when we done there was even an (uneasy) embrace. I think my new lady found this easier than my ex but there was at least a smile afterwards.
Phew! There's another headache off the list!
On the negative side a family member has sent a Christmas card to my kids but not to the ex. I'm really sad about that because we've both decided it was best to part - she's not done anything wrong. All she did was say what needed to be said.
See how your life has improved since a few months ago! A year from now and it'll be even better.
I doubt anyone who knows will even see this, but has The Walking Dead stopped showing on Fox? Is it the mid season break?
I'm not up to date with it yet and am 3 episodes behind so I can't Google or look on the proper thread or I'll get spoilers.
Ben is considering a quick spin on his bike later.

According to Wikipedia the last episode aired on the 1st December (Season 4 Episode 8) and the next episode airs in February.
I am feeling a bit crap today, having had an awkward conversation with my employers at the weekend that was most certainly to the benefit of the family I work for, but which seems to have messed up my relationship with the parents a bit.
Speak the truth and shame the devil
If youre being honest and well intentioned you should be ok
You can't be anything more than honest, Harridan. Just chin up and move on. Normality will resume.

Ah, excellent, just what I needed to know, thanks!

*is intrigued*
Hope the awkwardness doesn't last.
Not much to be intrigued about - just negotiating that fine line between employee and pseudo-family-member. I'd been trying to subtly express a concern for a few weeks and wasn't getting anywhere so I ended up biting the bullet and telling the parents that they were dealing with their youngest in completely the wrong way and causing the behavioural issues they were facing. Definitely overstepped the employee boundary, but I couldn't see any other way, and ignoring it was going to make their life worse in the long run. They were very receptive, but I feel some tension now, and it sucks because I really didn't want to make them feel I was being condescending.
Difficult. I doubt there's any easy way. Maybe they'll go away and think about it and realise you have a point.
Hope so. Thanks, all.

Subtlety has it's limits and if you didn't say it,as a person of integrity it would have eaten you up
Besides being right is rarely acknowledged in a timely manner
Good for you, sounds like it needed to be said.
