8pm and I am considering going to bed. Rock and roll.

Question is what goes on in the bed....

Did you take a dump in it first?

Had my first mental bride moment today, finding out that all of the registras are booked on the date of our wedding next year! Have settled down now and there's a cup of tea brewing. All is not lost- registry office quicky the day before and a humanist celebrant on the day, which works out slightly cheaper and means we don't have to have all of that boring legal waffle on the day. Now hopefully the celbrant is available...

Will you do your singing act at your wedding?

Tell me about it! I've barely been away from my front window, eyeballing the box and grinding my teeth.

Always the bridesmaid...

I fear she'll become our own very own Miss Havisham.

That just screams two parties and two pretty dresses to me. Yay. Where are you getting married? Are you going big white dress or something else? I love wedding talk. The idea of actually making a commitment to another human fills me with fear, so I have to live through other people's weddings.

I won't be doing my act, but I'm considering writing a song to do just before the band comes on. I'm torn though, as I think performing at your own wedding is super vomit-inducing, but people seem to have a lot of faith in my lack of awfulness. I will write a song a few months before, and if it's genuinely not horrible I'll consider it. But if I sense even the tiniest cringe I'll just shoot my guitar in the face and never speak of it again.

No, I very specifically don't want the legal bit to be treat like a ceremony or party. I'm going to be putting so much into the day, that I want the registry office to be as glum an event as possible. It'll just be me, Dan and our mothers as witnesses.

We're getting married here http://www.danbycastle.com/ (it's AMAZING- a ruined castle attached to a working farm on the North Yorkshire Moors, on the edge of a valley with 360 degrees of countryside all around. I'm doing a white dress (well, probably not white white), but it will be 50sish, ankle length. Phwoah.
