Wondering if there is any way a few savoury biscuits make a healthy dinner.

Thank dog it's Friday, and all that.

Ellie had a bad journey to work today as someone was under a train at the top of the Victoria line. But anyway, was only 15 minutes late for work.

How awful, for both the driver and the person under the train.

Seems to happen suprisingly frequently on the tube. And they kindly announce over the PA the real reason why all the trains have stopped Errr

Awful awful awful. I can't stand the idea of someone forcing their death on the the hands of another. The poor train drivers.

It's so nonchalantly done. But I guess they do it, so that tfl don't get the blame for the hold ups.

Yes, the first time you hear it feels very surreal indeed.

I think the nonchalance is what makes it so disturbing. They announce it in the same voice they announce a signal failure.

It's awful for the drivers and the passengers but it can't have been easy for the person whose mind was so frail they thought to end their lives in that way.

Exactly.
Of those three groups of people, I'd prefer to be in the first two.

Well of course. It's extremely sad that people feel so desperate in life that the only way out is to end it. Really really tragic. And I understand that the last thing you're really thinking about in that situation is the fallout of your actions with those around once you are gone. But you still have to have a lot of sympathy for those who will no doubt be extremely emotionally affected by these situations. I've always thought that if I was going to kill myself then it would be in a clean, quiet way behind a locked door with a note out front warning not to come in. But even then, you have to consider the police and medical staff (and obviously your family and friends) who have to deal with the aftermath.

It's just a horribly sad situation for everyone involved.

Some drivers have to leave their job afterwards. It affects the entire rest of their lives.

I agree, Nat. It's not easy for anyone but I tend to sympathise more with the dead, personally.

Once at Uni a guy jumped off from the tower building.
I'd got out of a lecture and missed it all (thankfully) but the blood stain was still there. I wasn't in shock but I think it was a similar state for the rest of the day.

I used to have a bit of a phobia I'd accidentally shoved in front of a tube train and everyone would think I killed my self.

So if it happens I didn't.
