A picture of an owl has made me crave a cigarette. This is ridiculous. Does he have skulls on his bowtie or am I just in that sort of mood?
And I don't think he's upset by smoking, I think in that picture the landlord just said he'd have to go outside in the rain.
I don't necessarily get nicotine cravings, although I do. I find the biggest trigger when I quit is when I'm sat 'round a group of other people who are smoking. On top of this me being somewhat socially awkward, I find it gives me something to do, when I need something to break eye contact for example (the little things like that). I roll my own as well, which is another "distraction". It's a f**king stupid cycle.
But meh, what you gonna do?

Oops! Sorry AJGO...

One of the many reasons Leevil old son you're not welcome in polite society.
Hee, thanks Leevil
You can smoke in here as long as you don't mind me leaning in a little too close when we talk, and possibly chewing your jumper sleeve

If you weren't so damn sexy, it would make this addiction much easier to control.

I cracked watching Sherlock's smoking scene. On the plus side, it's the most hours I've not smoked in years, so something to build on. And on the even plusser side, it's bloody lovely. If anyone's thinking of taking up smoking, I'd thoroughly recommend it.
I can tell you horror stories if you like?
I'd just need a cigarette to help with the distress
I'm an ex smoker, took me two attempts, one lasted a few weeks, the other a whole year, till I finally gave up.
Don'e even notice them now, no desire at all for them....keep at it AJGO, take up drinking copious amounts of tea like I did
Let me be boring a moment.
My father was the manager of a tobacconist shop for years. I smoked everything legal, Black Russian, Camel, Passing Clouds, Black Cat, Woodbine, Park Drive etc etc for many years.
Ended up on 60 a day.
I developed a cough which resulted in me feeling like a band was tightening around my head each morning. I wanted to give up. I had acupuncture and it/wanting to worked. That was some 30 years ago now and I haven't had one puff of anything since and never will. Because I tell myself that if I do I will, most likely, be on 60 a day again.
But my main point . . yesterday in my usual pub, I bumped into a mate that works at the same organisation as me and who I hadn't seen at work or in the pub for a while.
He said that he hadn't expected to see this New Year as in the summer he had had his left lung removed because of cancer. He reckons they've caught it all ....
He's 45 years old.
If you don't want, 100%, to give up don't play at it because it won't happen.
Sorry to be heavy but don't make light of it.
Chip's just put up his 2012 Year Planner and mapped out what he'll be doing for the next twelve months with the free felt tip and stickers that came with it.
Both stickers in place?

Some people I know have given up smoking by
1. Using the money they would have spent cigarettes to buy something they wanted like DVDs or really good chocolate.
2. Keeping a packet of cigarettes somewhere in the house like the junk draw in the kitchen. Basicaly somewhere so you know they are there but don't need to look in to often.
Good luck!
