The new year is only a few hours old and already we have our first highlight.

I started to clean the oven to today, got as far as doing the door. Have decided to stop buying Ajax spray after it failed to remove a stain on the stove top that came off with bi carb paste

I never clean the oven. Too much hassle. Plus you can get overpowered by the fumes and die.

You better believe it, baby.
Trying to finish a few writing projects of my own... but eagerly awaiting the next "Absolutely Fabulous"!
My mum 'gets someone in' to clean the oven. How dirty can it get?
Hmm you might want to try YouTube or somewhere if you're after the latest one, unless you have pay TV. Don't imagine ABC showing it anytime soon

Good point. Even if we get rid of all the teenagers I don't think the smell will go for a while so it might even make the in-laws' vist a short one.
Result! Thanks.
Happy New Year ya'll.
Happy New Year!

Don't think mine is to bad. Managed to get the door clean with water and Bi carb. Just thought I should at least clean the door so it looks ok next time I have an inspection.
Yeah it's good to have a clean door, so you can see if things are burning or bubbling over, but the inside can take care of itself as far as I'm concerned.
I've now added clean the oven to my list of goals for 2012
No self-cleaning ovens in the UK?
