Thanks for your concern. All is well here in my neighborhood thanks to favorable winds. Sadly, it's not the same in some parts of the state and thousands of people have lost their homes. It's incredibly frustrating to watch this parched landscape burn while there are floods only a few hundred miles away.

Today's news joyously announced the arrival of a cold front. That meant that the high temperature was only 92F/34C. Still, it felt absolutely fantastic compared to recent months.

I prefer hot and dry over cold and damp. Maybe it's because I was born in the desert?

If you guys can attach ropes and drag your island kingdom down to say, a Bermuda-ish latitude, I might be interested in emigrating.
