Was just on Facebook and my mother-in-law has just posted the stupidest thing I've ever read. And the real kicker is that I can't say anything in response to it, because an argument will start, I'll run circles around her, make her cry, and then I'll be the bad guy, when in reality she was saying bad stuff about her own grandson. ARGHH!

What did she say?

He's very happy with it. They have a Golden Axe arcade machine in the staffroom. Plus, they have a tank out on the front lawn.

Pah! I've got a tank in my bathroom.

Golden Axe arcade game. Different matter!

*impressed*

I had my eye on an original "Mr Do" arcade machine when I had my flat, sadly that never came to pass. Anyway, the bailiffs would probably have got it so at least that's one satisfaction.

I was trying to find Mr Do to play online
But to no avail.

Well, she was all in a snit because the subject of creation vs. evolution came up over lunch with my oldest the other day. We aren't religious people by any means, but he is a brilliant science student. So, she went on Facebook slamming him and how he is blind to the real truth, that he's being corrupted by the "system" and that he'll probably go to hell. She then went on to slam the school system for not teaching creation. *sigh*

And she wonders why we don't see them very often...

The 50ps I pumped into "Mr Do" could have bought me a small car I think.

I did have a Colecovision machine in the mid-1980s and a Mr Do cartridge which was a poor cousin but still not bad. Still in my first wife's loft I think.. mm, there's a suitcase up there as well that I really ought to try and dispose of..

Huh?

That's like our DigDug right??

Dig-Dug can be so frustratign! We have one of those joysticks that you plug into the TV and can play Pac Man, Dig-Dug, Space Invaders and stuff with.

Oh I would destroy her for that. But that's just me.

I'm perplexed as to why you're worried about seeming the 'bad guy', especially when faced with people like that. Stand up for your kids.

It's similar to dig dug but I think it's much better.

Ben is back to the grind.

Oh dear.

But if he's a good scientist it will only benefit him.

Actually ask her if she is a creationist if she keeps kosher or halal.

She will of course say no.

Point out in Genesis after the flood the all mighty commands of us 3 things (I'll get the reference) in exchange for not flooding the world. One of which is consuming meat "with the life blood in it"e.g. none kosher or halal.

So as long as she consumes such meat she is giving permission for God to destroy the world.

Which is both selfish and a form of child abuse.

If you get the references (plus this commandment is never resinded in the New testmanet) it is a very easy way of pissing off fundamentalists.

I should point out I am an aetheist.

Great post!

Good luck with her Andie, she sounds a wrong'un as we say in these parts.

I'm doing my part to keep the world safe by eating kosher salt. As far as I can tell there's no lifeblood in it.
