Won't miss her a bit, but I would miss my kids' cousins, the ones I almost adopted. They're having a hard time and I end up with them a large amount of the time.
I can't imagine how hard it is having to deal with all that. You seem like a very strong person, and I'm sure you make a big difference in their lives.

Thanks Lee. Their new mother is a wonderful lady. She is very good at the basics, but not good at the love and hugs stuff. she's a bit of a fringe straightener. But everyone involved felt that the kids would be better off with these people because they have fantastic jobs and a huge house. they just don't get the things they need the most. Hardest decision I've ever made and one I regret most of the time. 
Just returned from an unplanned drive (600 miles in all) to Fort Worth and back. My ex-girlfriend visited over the weekend and her Jaguar blew up on the drive back to Oklahoma City. I started heading north, expecting to turn around when things were remedied, but Murphy's Law reared it's head and we ended up spending the night in a hotel room with 3 disgruntled dogs.
I took a rural highway instead of boring myself on I-35 and the scenery was a pleasant distraction.

Yeah, she got lucky and it was only a $175 repair. She's skittish about driving it and is already shopping for a new car.

I have unfortunately become the subject of many arguments at their house. When they are here they sleep wherever they want (i usually end up with at least 2) and I let them have chocolate chip pancakes. The dogs lick their faces and I've taught all 3 how to drive RC cars. I don't force them to go to church and they help me cook everything. Apryl calls her mother a funsucker. I agree.
