Doing maths is more valuable then learning to draw an apple though.

Up to a certain point, I'm not certain how much of the maths I was taught past say, twelve has proven of any use to me. I didn't think it would at the time, and I was proven right.

Life skills? What, a class teaching you that all your dreams will come to nothing and you'll lose the woman you love and end up settling for a succession of empty relationships with people you grow to despise?

I'm not a lezzer.

I'd say it's just as important for a school to develop the creative side as much as the practical side.

I have been kept keen on the grindstone of pain and necessity. (C. HG Wells)

Which was a subject I learnt at school.

You could at least try it, for Gods sake.

Your bang on. has anyone ever used the formula to work out the long end of a triangle? No Because we're not f**king mad.

I do use formulas when writing action scripts but Maths didn't help with applying camera wiggle over 20 frames it's just something pick up from using software.

That's why they're optional.

If I ran a school subjects would be:

Sciences
Maths
English
Languages (German, French)
No dedicated IT lesson IT is spread through the other subjects as tools of learning.
Sports (Because we don't want a nation of fatto's)

Optional

Without wanting to sound like a massive ponce, I think encouraging kids to have an appreciation for beauty, good art and literature is one of the most important things.

Sports should definitely be a big part of the curriculum though, I can't believe it's been phased out so much. Bloody retarded.
They need to offer lots of different fun things though so people don't dread it.

They are optional! So don't have to take them, means kids who are interested and want to do it are in there and kids that don't and will be disruptive to others aren't.

It is imperative that sport is abolished.

You're seriously telling me you wouldn't enjoy seeing two lepers fighting?

Haha. So what do you suggest to keep England from becoming the most obese country in the woooooorld?

Oh maybe you mean sports specifically, rather than exercise...?

So all the boys will drop it as soon as possible 'cos art and music is 'gay'.

Free gastric bands for everyone?

I was giving an example to Zooo of fun things! I'd like to see a leper punch another leper's thigh off, who wouldn't?

I think it would be awesome.

Bring back that whole Christians/Lions thing too.
