With anxiety you always have to think "what's the worse that could happen?". In nearly all cases it's really nothing that bad. It might seem really bad, but if you can put some perspective on it, you can begin to see that something that may seem bad really isn't.
We've tried explaining that a million times. As have some very patient doctors. Nobody can get through to her and in all likelyhood nobody ever will.

It was just general advice.
It's very hard to try and make the elderly do anything - I've just spent the weekend trying to get my mum to go to A&E after she had a fall at home and has a large cut on her browbone and a black eye. Her general response was "no, I'll be alright thanks."
I saw her in 2003, what more does she want!
