It's a terrible cough. Like, incredibly chesty. It sounds like babies coughing when they're sick, or almost like TB coughing. Probably a chest infection.
If you're bringing up coloured phlegm then you may be able to get antibiotics from the doctors. I had flu last Christmas and managed to get antibiotics as I was hacking up green stuff. They helped a lot.
