Hey everybody!!!!

Well, are you ready for it???????

*drumroll................*

They offered me the job!!!!!! :D

And then when they told me the pittance of a salary I would be making, that I would have to work on Christmas, that I was not allowed to voice my opinions on volatile subjects, that I would have to be working with an unfunny pedantic old fart and that I wouldn't be allowed to stray from their stringent music format, I decided against it. :(

But ultimately, it came down to the fact that my kids would have to get ready for the morning with their dad's help (which means no help Angry ) and I can't put them through that. I would be leaving the house at 3:30 am and not get home til 2 in the afternoon. A good opportunity, but not worth it if it short changes my kids. :)

You can't trust anyone these days, Sammy. And, if the rumours are to be believed, this guy was caught with his fingers in the till.

Heh, have you actually seen this guy? He is the epitome of innocence. Bless 'im.

Ah, wot a shame.

I could never work with conditions like that either.

Well done for getting it though. It's always nice to be offered things. Sounds like you are making the right decision not taking it!

Hey everybody!!!!

At least you went for it, Andie. No regrets, I hope.

If you have the knack for dis radio thing, why not start a podcast or internet radio uh-thing? Have fun with it. :)

So he's managed to fool you, too? I didn't think you were that gullible, Sammy. I'm very, very surprised.

Is this a co-host on a Breakfast show position?

Yeah, it was a co-host of a local 6am-9am radio show on a terrible soft rock station. Would have been a good opportunity, but the minuses outweighed the pluses.

25/11/2009 - the day the music died.

You should have taken the job, played some weird music and discussed touchy issues so that they fired you. Then you get yourself hired by a competing station because you're "edgy and controversial." Look out, Howard Stern.

American stations seem to love Go West, there's a positive for you right there.

Pay is generally rubbish in local radio, I once did a cover shift at a Scottish radio station. 4 hours on air. £20. I don't even think that's legal...

Shouldn't Aaron have some sort of automatic 'biscuit' for 'cookie' substitution in place?

Laughing out loud

It was tempting, believe me.
