Taking my boy out for some lunch.

Sorry to hear your bad news Andrea. :( I still miss my grandad; he was the only grandparent I ever had and he died when I was 13.

I've had six hours sleep since Sunday, so if anyone would care to have a dig at me in some way (and if you haven't already why not join the gang and have a go?) I will have no mercy.

Still I've used my time awake constructively coming up with more rubbish ideas.

I am very sorry to hear your sad news Andrea. I've had three bereavements in the last two years - it's tough.
I am sending you big hugs and my deepest sympathy. I hope you have plenty of love and support. Console

Dolly - poor you, I can't think of anything horrible to say (cos I'm just not horrible) so I will say I know how that feels and I really hope you get some quality sleep soon.

Status report on Loopey - off to London hospital AGAIN :(

Everyone seems to be having a crap week so far!

I went to my first Toastmaster's meeting last night ( it teaches you how to speak in public)

Anyway I took part in the informal off the cuff 2 min ad lib speech - and I won the prize.

They said it was funny.

Dead chuffed.

Well done Bigfella!!! *claps*

Good job Bigfella.
My wife was in for years it is a really beneficial organization to be part of. I envy her public speaking skills yet don't have the balls to go myself so good on you!

Thanking you.

I was bricking it to be fair.

Nice one Bigfella! I think I would stammer too much and get over emotional. Was it your first ever go then?

It was!

Ooooh, he's a natural then! Well done to you, sir! I just hope you didn't fluff up the acceptance speach for the award :)

It was all good. I would recommend it to anyone - it was a small group 20 or so. And a completly none agressive atmosphere.

Everyone is suportive and you get feedback. They start with a postive, then give you an area where you can improve and then end with another postive.

The best thing is it only costs 36quid for 6 months.

Is it meant just as a confidence building thing, or does it serve some purpose besides?

You can use it for whatever.

They "sell it" as a confidence boosting thing.

But it is an international thing with international competitions.

But its great for learning how to stand up in front of an audidence.

I've been advised to look into getting into motivational speaking for confrences on the back of my weight loss. But I had a really bad stutter as a kid and literally couldn't string a sectance together - so public speaking is still a bit of an ordeal for me. I still see rows and rows of kids laughing at me!

Can you moonwalk, Sammy?

No. :(

Can you?

Yeah, I can imagine that'd be somewhat odd. What was the runtime? zooo and I will probably go to see it.
