I saw a notebook for £99 the other day. Dunno if it'll be any good?

Do tell me more about Windows 7. Ideally in great detail, specifically highlighting the bits where it's far superior to MacOS.

*listens*

It's not ugly and bulky and grey. It doesn't involve shelling numerous multitudes of its actual worth due to being locked to proprietary hardware. It doesn't have a spinning pinwheel of doom. It has a great range of software and peripheral hardware available, and a smooth, sexy set up process. All round loveliness.

I'll be getting my new laptop soon, so I have to make up my mind which op.system I want. Decisions, decisions...

Windows 7. :)

Hm. Anything else smooth and sexy about it? Cos I ain't planning on doing that set-up thingy all too often.

I'm thinking I will give Windows 7 a try. I have to say that I will miss using my son's computer. There's nothing like forgetting to select which operating system I want and seeing Ubuntu pop up on the screen.

Ah, those. Yeah ... I'd stay away. Not awful, but you'll get much better value for your money if you save up a bit more.

Yeah, just read more about it and came to the same conclusion. Oh, well.

Ummm. There's not a lot that isn't smooth and sexy! Lots of lovely new, stylish wallpapers. Key programs (e.g. Paint and Calculator) massively and sexily overhauled. A new thing called Snip to print screen just a small selection, write/draw notes on it and save straight to .png without loading up Paint, Photoshop or somesuch. Lots of other nice little tools along similar lines. Like I said, I've not got around to installing the final version as yet, but I can't fault the RC, and my friend who did set up the final hasn't complained either.

Is that your own website? Blimey it's a bit rude!

No it wasn't mine, but they employed me to write for them for a few years.

Like Triny and the other bird?

We were a working class version. (and didn't have a thing about grabbing other women's tits) Cool

I'm glad to hear that I'm safe.

Yeah, I always wondered about that...and asses. They were always grabbing asses...

Oooo. Excellent. MacOS does that (ctrl+alt+4) and I've been missing it on the PC at work. :)

Yeah, I suppose, it'll be Windows 7 on the netbook in a few months. But I maintain that MacOS is better than those who don't like it make it out to be, but worse than the cult wants to make you believe.

Certainly true on the latter. The former, possibly - all I know is that every time I use a Mac, I find a new thing to hate, and fall in love with Windows a bit more.

Couldn't they afford a taxi?
