I have a really softy dog who'll probably be bossed around by the cat. I would never have had a cat with my previous dogs - they would have killed it.

Oh dear. Don't bother with the crap friends and concentrate on the real ones.
I'm still really good friends with a couple of people I went to school with from aged 11 and I'm so glad I am.
