Final fight and then street fighter

I used to play Street Fighter in an arcade in Liverpool City Centre, when I'd go shopping with my mum. As Chinatown was nearby, this particular arcade was always full of Chinese kids, and it seemed like all of them were experts at the game. I remember, one time when I managed to beat one of them, I swaggered out of the arcade, feeling like Jean Claude Van Damme in the film Kickboxer, after he'd beaten that Thai bloke.

Sorry, I edited this post, and the thread's gone back to the top again.

That's a inspirational story Catskillz, making me want to dust off the Street Fighter box, get acquinted with Mr Vaga again and bowl into the trocadero demanding to take on all comers from Japan and China!!!!

Maybe after X factor innit?

I'm a PES man, to be honest. I have to say, finally, after all the versions, I reckon something has actually beaten Kick-Off 2 to the best football game ever award.

I know 2009 is out in a week, but has anyone tried the 'World Tour' in 2008? About the fifth challenge is 'win without being off-side', which was difficult enough, but now I've got to 'score with a 30-yard dribble', which is *shit* hard.

Serves me right for trying to do it with Greece, I suppose...

EDIT: Sorry, I meant best football game ever was Kick-Off 2 on the Atari ST. The graphics may have been better on the Amiga, but the pace was ludicrously slow after you'd mastered the ST version.

I used to play FIFA 98 on my PC, back in the good old days. Then computer games started to get too realistic and flashy, and I went off them for good. The last console I had was the Super Nintendo.

There's nothing more annoying than grown men playing computer games. When I hear my friends talking about X-BOXES and PS2 and all that shit....I get really really bored. YAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWN.

SNES! <3

I can't wait until my Nephew's old enough to start playing footie games with me.

By the way, who remembers Matchday 1 and 2, on the Spectrum, back in the '80s?

I remember. I had a 'copy' of Matchday 2.

Now you've made me all nostalgic for the heady days of gaming on the Spectrum.

Def.

Kick off 2 was a masterpiece! I thought I was the only one who bought an Atari ST, all my friends had the amega's with their easy to copy games I had to be different...

I had a mate who bought an Atari ST. He went mad when the Amiga came out, soon after, wishing he'd got one of them instead.

My 360 is currently only displaying in black and white.

It's like playing Fifa in the 60s!

I got the new FIFA for the PC (as my PS2 is broken and I don't have enough money for a next gen console), and I've really enjoyed it: it betters last years game.

I have to say that my interest in PES has dwindled recently, since for me the game simply isn't going in the right direction. For me there's really not been a noteworthy improvement over the past 2-3 years, and there's been bugs and other annoyances than ruined my enjoyment of the game last year.

I remember the days of FIFA on the Mega Drive: I used to play Fifa 97 religously a a kid (because I couldn't afford a PS1). Sensible Soccer was also an awesome game: it was so fun to play even if it wasn't the most realistici football game you've ever seen.
Incidentally, it's possible to play Sensible Soccer and other games online through a Super Nintendo/Mega Drive emulator, so if anyone ever wants an online game or tournament then that'd be awesome.

It's Best, to Charlton, to Law, to Stiles and back to Best- 4-0.

I used to have a Snes and Street Fighterwas one of the first video games I ever played. Played it in an arcade in Liverpool, somebody said about Street Fighter. What a waste of time, I'd say Liverpool is the only town where you can play Street Fighter on the street.

I liked games like Double Dragon, Shinobi, Golden Axe

Oh yeah, retro gaming at it's best :P

Streets of rage too by any chance?

Yeah, I remember Streets of Rage.

Streets of Rage!

And Streets of Rage 2 of course!

There was a 3rd one as well, I think. Not as good as the first two though.
