Music Store Sketch

I’ve no idea how to write this one up as there is no dialogue at all.

INT. – MUSIC STORE – DAY

P.O.V. A teenaged boy listening to headphones in a music store. You hear Nirvana playing as he taps his leg while listening.

A bearded, long haired bloke in heavy metal clothing passes by and puts on a set of headphones and begins slowly nodding to the music he's listening to.

Cut's back to the teen as he watches the metal fan and tries to mimic his head movements.

Metal fan starts nodding head a little faster and more animated, working up to a full head banging session.

Back to teen (and Nirvana) looking on

Metal fan begins playing air guitar with long, sweeping arm flailing motion.

Back to teen (and Nirvana) looking around, seeing is anyone else is watching.

Metal fan drops to his knees, frantically head banging and lays back on the floor, does a circling on his back movement while all the time playing manic air guitar, until headphones come off. He stops playing guitar, gets up and walks away.

Teen watches him leave, takes off own headphones and puts on metal fan's set and hears.....

...The wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round, round and round...

Is that Jonathan Richman's version? Comes from a great album - Rock & Roll with the Modern Lovers.

Bit obvious I thought, been done before in similair type scenarios, you know from the second it starts that the heavy metal fan is going ot be listening to something corny.

Do you know who it's been done by before and I'll have a look for it on Youtube? I'll see if it looks anything like I had in mind then.

I thought as I read it that the metalhead would either be listening to something poptastic, or having a heart attack.

Change it to S-Club 7 or Steps. I think that'd be funnier. You probably aren't aware that my earlier comment is true. Wheels on the Bus was actually on that Jonathan Richman album along with Ice Cream Man and Egyptian Reggae.
