An Impossible Job

Not strictly speaking a comedy, but it's been great seeing the Graham Taylor documentary again tonight on ITV4. Some very very funny moments (and it inspired Mike Bassett England Manager). It's on again on Tuesday night.

It's great, I kept my tape of it from when it was originally on. It's funnier than many mockumentaries. My favourite bit is when he talks before a game about keeping it tight, and not letting in an early goal, then we see footage of some minnow team scoring against England directly from the kick-off! Do I like that.

Turnip head.

It's brilliant, yeah. And cringeworthy.

Here's what Bob Mills had to say about it on 'In Bed With Medinner.'

I <3 Bob Mills.

A few months ago I was on the top deck of a bus in North London. Bob Mills got on with who I assume was his wife and teenage kid.

This black guy spotted him and although he didn't know who Bob Mills was exactly, knew he was somewhat famous.

He said: "you're an da telly, innit".

Bob replied with "yea..."

The guy then got up, moved closer to Bob, and asked if he would listen to some "hip hop tunez" that this guy had been working on. Before Bob even had a chance to answer, he already had an earphone planted in his ear by this budding hip-hop star.

It was all very bizarre. Bob eventually had enough, and him and his family got off the bus in some obscure part of Tufnell Park. Probably to hail a cab or wait for the next bus.

Graham Taylor was a genuinely terrible England Manager. I know he took Villa to second place, in the league, but, when it came to England, he made some amazingly bad decisions, e.g. giving players like Geoff Thomas and Carlton palmer regular places in his teams, whilst failing to pick some real legends. Also, did you notice how he shouted at the players, like they were kids?
