The Secret Policeman's Ball

My wife bought two tickets for this comedy event some time ago and I'd almost forgot about it. But now I'm quite excited about getting to watch this show live at the Royal Albert Hall. In fact I've only just given it some thought, and I thought - cool, I'm going to see The Secret Policeman's Ball.

Has anyone else got tickets to this?

Def.

Shhh!!! It's a secret.

(and no, I haven't)

Naw! Too pricey for what it is I reckon. Unless you can get a freebie!

I don't even know who's at it this year...

Fearne Cotton, according to the advert. Not sure why thats a selling point exactly.

I'm sure her stand up would be legendary.

I don't even know who's at it this year...

Someone doesn't read the front page of this site ;) ... the line-up was up there earlier in the week.

Anyway, here it is again:

Frank Skinner, Alan Carr, Graham Norton, Sean Lock, Katy Brand, Tim Minchin, Kristen Schaal (from Flight Of The Conchords), Sarah Millian (the stand-up who was on 8 Out Of 10 Cats the other day), Kayvan Novak (aka Fonejacker), Canadian-comedian Russell Peters, Meera Syal, Sean Williamson (aka Barry Off Eastenders), Matt Berry, Katherine Parkinson, Mitchell and Webb, Russell Howard, Jason Manford, Shappi Khorsandi, Sharon Horgan, Nick Mohammed, Dan Clark, David Armand and many more!

The highlights of the show are on Channel 4 on Sunday at 9pm, and repeated next Friday.

I did see it there! I just... didn't read it. Huh?

Thanks!!

Is it only highlights on Sunday? Well, those who are eager can catch it tomorrow, for it is showing live in many cinemas across the country.

I shall report back tomorrow with all the goss', 'cos my housemate is working on it. :)

What was she dooooing?

She's doing ... stuff. I wouldn't like to say publicly, but uh, yeah. She's crew and magic all-access pass and that.

Bitch.

I am told that it was a brilliant and extremely funny show. Three and a half hours long - which is somehow being edited down to 95 minutes for tomorrow's Channel 4 programme!

I left at the interval and went home, so only watched half the show. Call me mad but I just didn't find it that funny. Most of the people I wanted to see were on in the first half. Of those, many were just so so. The funniest from the first half was Shappi Khorsandi. When they announced a half hour interval I turned to Mrs Def and said, 'Shall we go?'.

£70 a ticket! and for me it was a waste. Hopefully the cash will be used for a good cause.

Def.

It's on in a minute isn't it? I'll check it out.
