As I recall it, it said a deal WORTH £250,000 ... which leaves a lot of scope for some huge fees for somebody ...
I dunno I remember reading it and thinking it was a bit weasily worded but am surprised they've pulled it.
We have all quit our day jobs on the strength of getting it in £50's in a large brown envelope.
I didn't enter because I don't like stages or people but especially stages AND people. But I have a vague memory that it was something like a £5k commission and £245k worth of promotion.

At this moment, Frankie, it's easy for us to forget that fellow performers / writers can become discouraged by setbacks so I want to take the opportunity to reiterate my belief in you guys. We've known you for two years now and you've grown and developed muchly (sic) into a really talented group with solid output. The Slaggs count you as peers and more than that, we look up to you. Your time will come. In a pleasant rather than omminous sense.
Yeah, bad luck Junks. I agree with Bussell, this sort of thing is probably less about talent, and a bit more to do with how many votes you can scare up from friends and family! And semi-strangers off the internet too.

I still think the sketch show featuring the JM's, Slaggs and guests could be good. But it's hard to get that together, as you know.
Anyways, good luck to Bussell & Co flying the flag for BSG in the comp.
The JM's big challenge in 2009 is to get a live act together, and sustain it.
