This may be a bit late to highlight this show but I really enjoyed this over the last few weeks
Comedy Map of Britain
Is this really the only thread for this show?
It can't be. But I'm tired and this is the only one I can find...
Anyway, today's episode was awesome. Leigh Francis trying to get in his old loft was the funniest thing I've seen in weeks.
I nearly had an accident.
And seeing the real Avid Merrion! Amazing.
I never actually got around to watching series one, so have been going through it over the past couple of days, then will move onto this series. I love these comedy documentaries. I crave knowledge, and am a total comedy addict and nerd, so they're perfect for me.
Of course, a lot of it I already know because I've watched and read so much previously, but it's still very interesting! And now that there'll probably not be any further episodes of Comedy Connections, I can easily see this as a replacement. Even if there is a perhaps slightly more limited scope.
Aaron, could I still get that Comedy Connections episode about The Young Ones from you? I completely forgot about it.
As did I. No problemo.
Working through some stuff at the moment, so PM me what you wanted and I'll get it sorted in the next week or two.
I love these type of shows too. Mainly when they talk about Cambridge or Oxford type people. As they did last week with Mel and Sue.
In another life, I reeeally wanted to go and be in the Cambridge Footlights. Y'know, if I'd been born an extrovert and funny and that.

Yep. Bloody daunting walking to the echoes of some previous members' footsteps though!

Thanks.
Oh yes, walking in the footsteps of Mel and Sue, that would be so intimidating - they are hilarious. I wonder just how far they would have got were it not for the university they attended?
As someone from Teesside, I felt somewhat annoyed by the last episode. The only mention of Teesside in the whole episode was Roy Chubby Brown, who isn't exactly the greatest comedian around. They could have mentioned Bob Mortimer more when they talked about Vic Reeves. They might have also covered Will Hay, Stephen Tompkinson or Richard Griffiths.

I forgot, one can only be funny if one is poor, Northern and male. Silly me!

As is evidenced by The Little Waster.

Maybe they're saving it up for next time.

I had to turn over during that.
Who the FUCK was he?

Maybe, although I wonder how the next series will be done. If you visit the website, it shows that the first series was about the West and this one is about the East. I'm guessing that they will probably do the North and then the South.
