Lab Conf Song

Sorry to subject you to another one, but I got bored and actually I like this, or what it could be.

To the tune of SERGEANT PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND by THE BEATLES:

It was eleven or so years ago,
New Labour came and ran the show
Then they got a guy his name was Brown
And since then they have been going down
Now may I introduce this man
If you liked Blair then you'll be a fan
Of smiley happy David Mi-li-band

Come and cheer on David Mi-li-band
He's gonna try and steal the show
If it goes to his das-tard-ly plan
Then Brown will soon be o-ver-thrown

Tony Blair and Cherie, now even Ruth Kelly
All of them will cheer on Mi-li-band

MILIBAND:

It's wonderful to be here
To sup-port Gordon Brown
That's what I tell the audience
Of this, the Labour Conference
Whilst I'm plotting for his crown

I don't really want to steal the show
But I thought that you might like to know
That if you go and buy the Guar-di-an
You can read my own man-I-fes-to
Now friends, Romans lend me your ears,
‘Cause next up is Ms Hazel Blears,
And I'm smiley, happy David Mi-li-band

Is the Blears line a little weak?

Never enough political lyrics over a famous 60's mersey beat tunes IMHO, how about the state of the NHS rapped over You really get me going by the Kinks??

Well, for my first attempt at political song parodies I used an obscure song, which no-one knew. Famous 60s songs seem a safer bet. Do like The Kinks.
Death of a Clown sounds promising :P

It's a good idea for a song, and it feels like a good match to the lyrics. Also involving more than one singer is always a winner in my book.

But is it a little gag lite?
