What the BBC want.... Page 5

Has anyone going in via writersroom really got anywhere? In terms of new sitcoms made etc?

I had a radio pilot go up to 'offers' stage via the writersroom which didn't get made, but I cannibalised the story and put it in something else so it wasn't wasted.

Are there bettertimes of year to send in a script?

To be honest, I'm not sure. I think September and December are the worst months though. I mean, what with September being the month where everybody goes on holiday and then there's Christmas in December.

The entire industry shuts down in August while everyone f**ks off up to Edinburgh to get pissed, take drugs and shag desperate wannabes.

I mean source new talent. Smarmy

They are the most self-induldgent and self-regarding network, however.

I genuinly think you hate yourself Tim! :D

They have teams of readers for initial submissions but if you get further than that there are certain times of year when they hold commissioning rounds.

Very perceptive, Matthew. I try to accommodate the views of my peers.

:) I was being nice, Matthew, mate. (Shit, what chance the re-write of being coherent?)

What should you do if you keep being rejected and you are not funny? Do you still keep going or hack your head off and put it in a large pot and make some sort of bizarre human stew?

It's not that you are not funny, it's that everybody else just cannot get the humour :D
Sending scripts to the Writersroom is like sending swimwear to Eskimos, they're just not interested but have to appear so to appease the licence payer.
When have you ever seen a new writer's sitcom on TV?

Hello BB... haven't seen you in a while... how ya doin'?

As for new Sitcoms by new writers... https://www.comedy.co.uk/tv/coming_of_age/

It's shit but it's a new writer... perhaps this is why we don't see them very often... on the whole, new writers are crap...

Hi KJ...as depressed as ever.
I didn't know that, that sitcom was by a new writer. I thought it was very funny.... for a young audience that would enjoy the sex jokes as in Two Pints.
