Britain's Best Sitcom

I am doing something, like Britain's Best Sitcom in 2004. Just list your top 10 British Sitcoms in order, then I will put all your results together and get together a top 50 list. The result will be put on the website on the 20th March 2007.

1. Early doors
2. only fools and horses
3. men behaving badly
4. not going out
5. royale family
6. the office
7. the i.t crowd
8. porridge
9. one foot in the grave
10. open all hours

there is mine good luck on this "something" you are doing

1. Spaced
2. Blackadder
3. Porridge
4. Green Wing
5. The Office
6. Peep Show
7. Fawlty Towers
8. Help
9. Pheonix Nights
10. The Thin Blue Line

Honourable mention goes to:

Black Books

The Mighty Boosh
The Young Ones

And so many others.

Almost impossible!

1. Only Fools and Horses

3. Porridge
4. Men Behaving Badly
5. The Royal Family
6. The Good Life
7. Fawlty Towers
8. Goodnight Sweetheart
9. The Office
10. Early Doors

That list will change every 10 minutes depending on my frame of mind!

Ohhh... I'd need to give this some thought. I've never been able to get beyond my number one (which is Fawlty Towers without a doubt).

Side note: Incidentally running a Nationwide Top 10 Sitcoms poll is something we've been talking about at the BSG for a while. I suspect we'll launch a voting website towards the end of 2007... we're planning to do it on a huge scale so it won't be just yet - we've got a few other things to sort first.

It changes daily though the toppermost is a constant. I'd probably change my mind if I'd seen a few more episodes of some of the classics or even more of the newbies. Anyway, today I'm saying...

1/ Fawlty Towers
2/ Porridge
3/ Dad's Army
4/ The Office
5/ Coupling
6/ Peep Show
7/ People Like Us
8/ I'm Alan Partridge
9/ Father Ted
10/ Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em

...which I calculate as 8 x BBC and 2 x C4.

An even sider note to Mark's comment, but spookily we were discussing this earlier on today. Well, yesterday. You know what I mean.

Anyhoooooooo. Hmm, yes. I'll have a think, but I'm probably going to have to bow out of this one. Don't know how I could pick and rank like that! There's just way too much that I love.

Here's my top ten.
