Two people speaking at the same time?

In script form, how do you write two people speaking at the same time?

That's a good question. I usually tend to avoid having people talking over one another but I guess I will probably have to do that sometime

JOHN / JOE
John's dialogue. / Joe's dialogue.

Well, that's how I do it. The pilot script of Arrested Development also does it that way.

quick eg:

JACK & JILL:
There's something I need to tell you...

THEY LAUGH

JACK:
Sorry, you first.

JILL:
No, you!

A PAUSE.

JACK & JILL:
I've been wondering how to say...

THEY LAUGH AGAIN, THIS TIME LESS HEARTILY. ANOTHER PAUSE.

JACK & JILL:
I'm pregnant.

THEY STARE AT ONE ANOTHER, MOUTHS AGAPE.

JACK:
But...I'm a woman in disguise. How can you be...

JILL:
How can YOU be?!

PAUSE

JACK & JILL:
(SHOUTING) You cheating slag!

Or, if they're saying completely different things, then you'd split that part of the page in two and have BILL's name and dialogue on the left with BEN's dialogue and name on the right.

"And next on BBC 2, Jack and Jill are getting saucy . . . And so's their language. New comedy, next."
