Not true Morrace - it's very rare I say mean things about sketches in Critique. Usually I just don't comment at all if I really don't like them. (I also don't comment on sketches I haven't read, so "no comment" doesn't automatically mean "dislike"). Even when sketches don't work for me I try to point out the good, and to point out the "bad" as neutrally as possible.
I have plenty of scraps with people on other sections of the forum, but not usually over their work.
But I do feel it's useful to point out if a joke has been used before, eg when someone posted a sketch a while back with a wreath of flowers spelling out a swearword, I felt it was worth noting this had also been done on The League Of Gentlemen. Not to accuse people of gag theft but because if I'd come up with a joke I'd want to be told if it had been done before.
Finck's joke is different from the Viz strip anyway, as hers is a pointed topical reference (and a quickie) whereas "Playtime Fontayne" is an ongoing character piece.
BTW I don't really understand Finck's reference to replacing high profile jobs with women - is that a news story I missed?
PS Seefacts almost never posts anything in Critique (and nor do I). On the one time he did, I PM-ed him some feedback rather than posting it publicly.
