Two Pints - Series 8 Page 6
Has someone just compared Two Pints to Friends and called them similar? Jeeeeeesus! I like Two Pints, but it will never be as good as Friends.
Friends was good, Two Pints isn't.
Done.
Quote: earman2009 @ February 18 2009, 7:58 PM GMTSpaced was awesome. I wonder what the odds of doing a film or a one off special are? As for Two Pints, when is the new series? If someone mentioned it earlier, I missed it as I took a page out of Spaced's book and skipped to the end.
Spaced is a liquid shite. And it's only clever if you're the sort of person who buys their books from Zavvi/Virgin megastore.
And we'd all like to help our friends out, but Nick Frost makes Andrew Ridgely look like Jimi Hendrix.
Haha!

Sweet Jesus.
I think it's great 2 Pints exists. There's always going to be room for those kind of primary colours and broad strokes in British comedy. It's a very honest comedy to me - not a whiff of pretentiousness about it, and you can't argue with the amazingly-loyal audience it has.
Seriously, you can't.

Bring them to me, I'll argue with them!
And I notice the word "funny" didn't crop up in your post.
Quote: zooo @ February 18 2009, 7:36 PM GMTI haven't watched Spaced recently.
Aaron, you may soon be in for a treat...
Just don't make him watch Spaced afterwards.

Notice all you want, young Harris!
Hehe. Well, I guess you can admire a show, strictly as a product: "it hits the demographic perfectly, and it's very popular, and a powerful brand" and that can be separate from discussing whether you like it or find it funny.

Yeah, all that - plus it has its funny moments too. It's not like I go out of my way to watch every episode but when I do watch it I find it refreshingly-bright and breezy and not in the least bit depressing. I'd sooner watch an episode of Two Pints than Nighty Night, put it that way. Like I say, it is what it is and that impertinent lack of self-consciousness is one of its major strengths I think.
