I really really really hated Rentaghost.

Frasier always annoyed me. Blech.
Morning Griff, up early, going away for the weekend...Great thread but far too open to sabotage by one or two individuals, like that utterly deluded American who dared say a word against Frasier. Has he never heard of Eddie??
Why not use a mathematical standard deviation statistical model? As employed by all good polling organizations. That way you weed out the crazies on the fringes and don't allow them to sink the general consensus without trace. Best of all, you're in charge (I knew you'd like that bit) so you can decide who to weed out.
So when you get a sad lonely lunatic like zooo who actually thinks that Sex And The City is a quarter-decent programme, it's simple: press the virtual eject button and send them into cyberspace...
You know it makes sense.
Seeing as there has been talk about people not hearing about The Colbert Report I might as well explain it a bit.
The Colbert Report is a spin-off to The Daily Show staring satirist Stephen Colbert as the right-wing political pundit "Stephen Colbert". He is a character who is increadibly biased and a massive ego, somewhat similar to Alan Partirdige in a way, except the character is successful. His book, I Am America (And So Can You!), was a New York Times bestseller and is currently on sale in the UK.
The show is currently nominated for a Emmy Award, which is to be presented on Sunday.
Episodes are broadcast at 23:30 on FX, but you can watch them earlier at Colbertnation.com (Click on video - the "Full Episodes" section does not work in the UK).

Because that's the whole point. It's not meant to be consensus. It's meant to be unanimous. That is the whole point of the thread.

Fair enough.
Quote: Griff @ September 20 2008, 1:58 AM BSTHey what you do in your own time is your business. It's just when you start making inaccurate claims about it being "not geeky", and even "cool", the proofreader in me reaches for the red ink.
A differing opinion is a proof reading crime? Perhaps the least tolerant statement on this thread.
I know some people who still think Dungeons and Dragons is cool. Ok so they have beards, listen to Hawkwind and are scared of girls. But they think they're cool

They are wrong. I saw a group of them play d&D in the pub drinking orange juice, what a f**king nerve bringing their nerdiness into my house and buying orange juice! costs more to serve it then they make! I'd of love to seen them all get ripped on speed and booze and start having at each other coz someone's +9 sheild of blinding was infact a +9 Sheild of Blinding light.
Oh dear Gavin, that last dead give away.

of?
Being a geek in denial. You see a normal person would have said
"who had the biggest sword," or "the pointiest wizards' hat"
but referring to +9s etc, shows you know of their world.
Most people would consider middle-aged men playing Dungeons & Dragons to be geeky. Even those people themselves, as you have freely admitted. You know perfectly well that this is true, and are arguing for the sake of arguing, a practice I am far too tired to pursue today.

*I'm* the one you pick as sad and lonely, when there are DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS players present?
This makes you one of them.
Oh, you poor wee thing.
I dunno D&Drs are at least aware they're living in a sad deluded fantsay.
S&S actually believe the dreary, preachy world of the foot faced one is real.
