Universally Loved And Loathed Page 28

UNIVERSALLY LOATHED
Little Miss Jocelyn,The Liver Birds, ...And Then You Die,
'Orrible, Get A Grip, Will And Grace, The Crouches,
Mad About Alice, According To Bex, Babes In The Wood,
Dharma And Greg, Sex And The City

Please only object if you really hate one of the top list, or like one of the bottom list. "Erm it's OK I don't mind it" doesn't cut the mustard. Nor does "I've never heard of it".

:)

I don't think Will and Grace is loath worthy. My most hated is 'Back to You' but I know some people on here like it for some reason. In my opinion it's the perfect example as to why moset sitcoms today suck so bad.

Loaded is utterly pitiful nowadays but we have to remember that is the magazine that gave us Modern Toss

I used to read White Dwarf before it became geeky

Oh FFS. In what Bizarro Sooty-dimension was a Dungeons And Dragons magazine not geeky?

Ooh that's mean, and sounded like it came from the Guardians' womens page on a Friday.

:D

I know I just made it sound like I thought it was genuinely 'sexist' and that's why I don't like it. But I didn't really mean that. I know it's tongue in cheek. I just don't think it's very funny, or original.

In it's day it was very funny and surprisingly intelectual. I liked it's cookery off shoot, "Eat Soup."

There was a weird period when all these mega magazines were so popular.

Hey any turbo-nimrod-geeks remember Arcane?

I just don't think it's very funny, or original.

It's not original now, because it's been living off its own formula for 20 years.
But there had genuinely never been anything like it before when it first came out.

Hmm people I know who laugh at Viz; 1 priest, 3 Rabbis, 2 professors, a radical gay rights acitivist, 4 social workers (2 serious feminists), a bishop, 3 teachers, 6 accountants, a large number of rough sleepers, and me.

Viz is a flat out well written, clever work of comedy covering multiple styles and format.

Not so many like Bizarre, but feh!

Modern Jewish Socialist before it got silly

Woah, woah. Wait a minute. BEFORE? Damn. That must be one f**king nutjob magazine now.

I believe you. :)
But I can't be arsed with Citizen Kane either, and that's its main defence too.

And Griff is right, it's hey day is long gone. But there's still much to laugh at in it.

Student Grant used one of my quote about intent/content this issue.

Viz is much funnier than Citizen Kane.

Anyway, I should have gone to bed hours ago.

I might come back to this thread tomorrow or I might pretend it never happened.

Laughing out loud

Hey hey it was pretty cool in it's day it had a great recipe page.

Are they still prodcuing "Misanthropic Sitcom fan monthly"?

This sounds like the start of a very saucy joke.

You can't beat a Rule Of Ten gag.

When it had serious scifi writers like Dave Langford, and I believe a Terry Pratchet at one point.
