Little Britain USA Page 3

I liked it. I thought the majority of it was funny. A few sketches fell flat though like the druggy granny. I laughed a lot at the muscle men sketch though.

Had you seen the original British version or were you coming at it fresh?

I have seen probably most of the Little Britain episodes. I yes I like Little Britain.

I thought it was okay - what you'd expect from Little Britain really - I thought the Rosie O'Donnell fat fighters sketch was quite good. Not sure it will go down too well with middle-America though, given the extremity of some of the sketches.

My girlfriend had never seen the UK version, but she enjoyed the HBO episode and said she'd watch it every week.

:) Same here DaButt. My fiancee had never seen the UK original before but thought the US version was very funny. She loved the old retired British Couples sketch.

It was interesting, I'll say that but notice how they toned down pretty much every voice just so the Americans would understand it lol.

My favourite sketch was the old granny talking about all the drugs she has tried over the years.

Hilarious!!!

Wasn't great.

I'll still watch it though. :S

As a Brit, it felt very tired for the most part. There is absolutely nothing new that can be done with characters like Lou and Andy or Bubbles now I guess.

It did have some decent moments though and I quite liked the sketch with the old married couple.

It's frustrating though that 2 obviously talented performers are going to carry on bleeding Little Britain dry when artistically it should have ended a while ago.

One thing I did kind of like was that it wasn't softened up for the US. I was kind of worried they'd pull punches but thankfully this seems to be a British flavoured show that just happens to be American funded.

well, it wasn't as bad as i feared but its a shame that the feel they have to go to america to further their career

Whatever the problems with LB/LB USA, at least let us recognise just what a superb pair of performers these two are, especially Matt Lucas. Perhaps it's time for them to consider doing something which isn't solely written by them. They certainly would be great performers to write for, and it would probably broaden their range of material.

Where will they go next?

I expect if they go down a storm in the US that Hollywood will beckon.

Is tonights episode a repeat of yesterdays?

It was Ok, the odd chuckle here and there. The Fat Fighters one was excellent actually, but that always is. Lucas should try and do something longer with that character and world. I really think they should have moved on by now to something new, rather than coast like this; but I suppose the idea of an American series on HBO is pretty hard to say no to.

I just watched the repeat. There were a fair few laughs for me.
