Thanks for clearing that up Finck, wondered what the Audi adverts were on about.

An excuse for being late for school we were taught was:

Mein Hamster ist gestorben.

Awww! I remember people actually using that.

Another useful phrase was: Mein Bein tut weh.

Yep. Useful if you want to skip PE.

Ich habe keine geschwister, Ich bin fils unique.

Was that any good Finck? I was one of the only only children in my German class at school so I had to say that a lot.

The phrases I chose makes it sound like I was always off skiving :S

Ich habe keine geschwister, Ich bin fils unique.

But that's half French. Are you? Half French?

In German: Ich habe keine Geschwister. Ich bin Einzelkind.

But that's half French.

Eight words; six German, two French = quarter French.

Go make a f**king math class thread. This is the languages department. :)

Edit: Forgot a smiley there. :)

In that case; what is, 'Go make a f**king math class thread. This is the languages department.' in German? (assuming that Germans have a word for 'f**king'):P

Argh!!! I always did that. In my french oral my teachers was always telling me off for throwing the odd German word in there. Thank you for correcting me.

I remember my German teacher telling us about these big Asparagus festivals they had in Germany...do you know of these Finck or was he just pulling our collective legs?

Did you speak with your mouth full, then?

"Geh und mach nen verfickten/beschissenen Mathethread auf. Das hier ist die Fremdsprachenabteilung." :)

Yeah, I was giving a French oral, but she told me off for throwing my Bratwurst in there. I got tired of the old Norman Tongue.

Don't know about festivals, maybe in the few regions where asparagus is cultivated.

But you notice when it's in season. It's been eaten a lot, then. I like it very much myself. In the UK you mostly get only the green variant, don't you?

(It's an aphrodisiac. So I'm told...)

I've only seen green asparagus in the UK, yes.

Is it really? That will explain why I got kicked out of that cafe last week then. And, er, why I was caught dogging last week. Whistling nnocently

No...

I assume you meant to say 'You bitch!'. That would be 'Du Schlampe!'

And you're welcome. :)
