Yeah, most signs I saw as a paperboy said 'beware of the dog'. In the sketch I like the idea that the poor postie might next go to a Greek orthodox church and be mauled by Zeus, so the Western god is just one in a long line of aggressive deities.

Fred, you're right about the word 'volumous'. That's what I get for taking words from shampoo and conditioner adverts. I'll change it to 'luxuriant' I think. The lines he utters are meant to be throwaway - they're the god equivalent of barking.
