Recorded For Training Purposes Page 2

There was talk of Tilt (hopefully) becoming a two 13-episode series a year regular thing on BBC7. Although that depended on the first series going well with 'management'. It's supposedly going to be open-doors in the same way as the first.

That said, I thought Play & Record 2 would be open-doors, but it turns out not...

I think you're right. My main point was that it's not open to submissions this time round like the first series was. The producer has asked about 30 people to submit sketches on a non-comm basis.

Play & Record is different this time around as focused around various performers. The idea is that it will be based on their material (presumably mostly stand-up) with sketches inbetween, plus it's a shorter series as well. So limited scope for sketches, plus I think there are also a couple of commissioned writers. I'm one of the 30 (think of the film "300" but with bitter types who look like they spend too long sitting inside in front of a keyboard). I got on via having a couple of sketches in Tilt, but not sure if that's the same for the others.

Bring back Weekending, that's what I say.
