Interview with Jan Jung Page 2

The only thing I'd quibble with is Mr Jung's endorsement of the Final Draft software, which gets a major trashing on Amazon (and is the reason I've not bought it).

I'm surprised - i found using Final Draft made a huge difference to my writing as it removed all the thought about formatting as it did it itself. Would recommend it 100%.

as for cost...bittorrent it and pay them when you're loaded ;)

Brilliant guy, the only person on Earth to give feedback even when he really doesn't like your material.

Bump! Okay, quick question. Since Jan's probably being bombarded with more scripts these days, what's the average time for a response?

I don't know what the average is, but he read my script and replied within ten days. That was about three weeks ago.

Damn you! I sent mine off August 19th, heh. Maybe I should send a follow-up e-mail.

I emailed him a couple of dramas on 1st October.
He replied straight away and said he'd read them asap.
No reply regarding what he thought as yet.

Thought I'd send him dramas as everyone else will be bombarding him with sitcoms. ;)

I don't know what the average is, but he read my script and replied within ten days. That was about three weeks ago.

Was it good or bad feedback on your script?

I heard somewhere that it may take longer to hear back if production companies think your script has potential as they tend to pass it around their peers to get second opinions and to see if it could sell.

Well, I got reply yesterday and it seems scripts (or at least mine) won't be read until after October because they are preparing for C4's Comedy Lab. It was a quick reply though, which was nice.
