I'm learning Spanish... Page 4

Remembering images is far easier than remembering words and comes to mind more quickly.

That depends what sort of learner you are. If you are a visual learner, then yes. But if you are an auditory, kinesthetic, spatial, logical, mathematical, bodily etc. learner then perhaps not.

The best way to remember things is by making associations. So if visual learning works best for you, make associations between images and words. On the other hand, you could make associations between how words sound, e.g. the greek word "adifare" (but obv with greek letters!) sounds like "added fare" which would be "unjust" - the words translation. Otherwise you could associated certain grammatical rules with places you pass on your way to work, or other familiar locations. Anything to create an association between what you are learning and something else, because this strengthens the synapses/links in your brain, making it easier for you to recall.

'No tengo' sounds like 'I don't wanna dance'.

Laughing out loud "Tener" is probably one of the best verbs to know, me thinks.

Bostezar is my favourite verb. It means 'to yawn'. But its such a great word, bostezar.

One of my favourite Spanish words is probably "chucherias".

I'll kick you in the chucherias! Angry

:O Kick me in the sweeties!? I'm not a pinata!

It's funny how I concentrated on a visual example when the bit you just quoted me on smacks of a tendency towards the spacial!!

Anyway, yes that's a good point (did it again Laughing out loud). 'To associate' may have been better advice than specifically 'to visualise' - I guess that's just the example I remember most from uni. However I do believe that people will follow their own patterns and re-adapt naturally; and not everyone is capable of remembering through, say, touch, but most people can visualise to some extent.

Khota=the preparation and actual gobbing in some one's face. Think Spit the dog.
