The theme for the police man's ball one is "Small Actions".

Shame on me if it's obvious, but what the bloody hell does small actions mean?

Thanks for posting this though :)

:) No worries - it's sponsored by Amnesty, so I'm guessing 'small actions (donations/protests/writing to your MP) make big differences (the rise of human rights in China...the end of Guantanamo Bay, no more Noel Edmunds on the Telly...).

Ah right. Thank you sir

If I read the Small Actions thing right you don't get to write the sketch. You send in the idea, and then someone else writes it up.

Ah I see the winner of the last Amnesty competition was BSG-er Symon Parsons (or "Parson's" according to the f**kwit who wrote the web copy.) Nice one Symon.

Who is Symon Parsons on here? Does he post regularly?

Really? So it's just the idea? I wonder if you get the credit?

Yeah the SPB one is a corker, as a writer you come up with an idea and what they do is get proper writers to write it for you. I guess so you can learn what you should have done had you had the chance.

:)

To be fair, last year's I'm pretty sure was one competition to 'pitch' the sketch (a la what they've asked) and then a follow-up comp to actually write the sketch from the winning pitch.

Let's hope they're doing that again, as it worked last year.

Dan

Being fair is no fun. What happened last year is someone pitched an idea, then the winning script was the next stage on 4Laughs, written by the great man YI as it happened, and then f**ked about with by the actors etc. This year the SPB have taken it away from 4Laughs entirely after saying they would do it. So the gig is to come up with a great idea for a sketch and they will give it to the SPB writing team to write it up for you. Not the same thing at all. Line up, get your head patted and thank them for it.

.

The sketch Yielding wrote was a lot sharper than the one they actually performed after "so called" professional writers got their hands on it.

I think these "professional" writers who regularly have stuff on telly should be shot! :P

Mister F I so agree with you!

:)

Shot or hung, luckily I've got that half covered.

Laughing out loud
